Kent County Public Defender | Indigent Defense Attorneys
A non-profit organization staffed by attorneys committed to providing high quality indigent defense to the Kent County community.
The Kent County Office of the Defender is a private non-profit organization that is committed to excellence in the representation of indigent citizens charged with felonies. We have an experienced staff of attorneys, mitigation specialists, and investigators whose sole function is to represent those defendants assigned to this office by the county.
Our personnel policy prohibits our attorneys from doing any legal work outside of cases assigned by the court. As a result, our sole focus and effort is directed toward our indigent client, and not a retained client or other legal matter. We are the Kent County Office of the Defender, however we are not Kent County employees or state employees as are the judges and prosecutors.
“ I found that our attorney worked incredibly hard and went above and beyond for the case he worked on for a friend. We are so grateful! ”
